Well, I'm mostly into the welsh Gods in the Mabinogion but a friend of mine is teaching me about all kinds of different Gods and how they're all connected. The mabinogion are very complicated tales from a long time ago, that have been twisted and some forgotten. They say that Branwen was actually Cerrunos, or a symbol of Cerrunos. Branwen means white raven, or wisened raven. I'm just a learner. I mostly just try to respect the land and my ansestors. The celtic wisdoms are mostly about the land. There were spirits that resided in the land and in buildings that needed to be respected. The Bwci was a creature that had to be respected otherwise ill fortune would fall upon you. The number three was considered the most powerful number and the nmber nine was a number of punishment. If you committed a really unforgivable crime you were exiled into the sea, having to go beyond the ninth wave. The sheer complicity of it means that you can take two friends who "believe the same thing" and they'll actually interprett it differently. Cerridwen is the Goddess of inspiration or Awen. Awen is something deeper than inspiration and there's no such english word but it's a sort of mix between the soul and inspiration. Hmmm... I'm no god at explaining things that are relavent. I can only say so much and so little. (Afterall, I don't know that much!) Even though I believe in the Gods of Celtic tradition I do not dismiss the Gods of other traditions. I believe that all Gods exist... well to some degree, I believe what I percieve as credible... but as time wore on and people stopped worshipping them they became less influential and were 'demoted' to spirits. (That lacks some elagance...) The point is, that I follow the Gods of Celtic tradition mostly as it is my herritage and I believe I owe a few of them for things I have in life and I should respect them more as I live in the lands that they reside in yet I would call upon other Gods as well should I need another kind of help, and teaching on celtic wisdom is quite rare in the form I'm searching for it.
